Summer Conferences

Tulane University is located in Uptown New Orleans on St. Charles Avenue, directly across from Audubon Park. We offer overnight accommodations for conferences, youth camps, and interns during the summer months. Tulane is conveniently located along the St. Charles streetcar line, providing access to downtown attractions while staying in a residential area.

Intern Housing

Our Intern Housing is conveniently located on Tulane's Uptown Campus. We provide secure housing within walking distance of public transportation and optional parking for an additional fee. Amenities, including a semi-private bathroom in a furnished room and access to laundry and kitchen facilities, are included in our nightly rates. Also included are all utilities, such as electricity, air conditioning, cable, and ethernet and wireless access. Interns stay in their own community, providing them the opportunity to meet other students working and researching in New Orleans. Our University Conferences student staff is on-call in the case of an emergency. Review the below frequently asked questions, as well as pages 1 & 2 of the Reservation Request Form. Who is eligible for intern housing?

Any undergraduate, graduate, or professional student from another university who is 18 years or older who has a summer internship or summer research project is eligible for our Intern Housing. To request intern housing, please complete page 4 of the Reservation Request Form and email to conferences@tulane.edu. If you are unclear as to whether you are eligible, please contact the Conferences & Hub Coordinator at conferences@tulane.edu and we can discuss your unique circumstances.

I represent a company that would like to house several interns at Tulane. How can I reserve a space for my interns?

We are happy to arrange intern housing for New Orleans companies. Please fill out page 3 of the Reservation Request form and email to conferences@tulane.edu.  Contact the Conferences & Hub Coordinator at conferences@tulane.edu if you have any questions.

Will I have a roommate? Can I request roommates? Can I contact my roommates/suitemates before I arrive?

Single and double rooms are available upon request in the Reservation Request Form. However, you will likely share your bathroom with 1-3 other interns in suite style housing. You can request to be housed with other people as long as those requests are mutual. Roommates are those that live in the same room as you, while suitemates share the bathroom and other common spaces. We will make room assignments in early May and notify you of any roommates or suitemates at that time. 

Camps and Conferences

Tulane hosts youth and adult camps and conferences throughout the summer. Our Conference Housing is conveniently located on Tulane's Uptown Campus. Housing and Residence Life will provide check-in and check-out services at the beginning and end of the scheduled conference dates. How are rooms assigned for conference groups?

Conference groups will provide names, email addresses, dates of accommodation, and any special needs/accommodations of all conference attendees. Room lists will be provided by Housing and Residence Life for conference groups to assign rooms. Room assignments should be received by Housing and Residence Life staff no later than 7 business days prior to the group's arrival to the University. Housing and Residence Life staff can also do rooming assignments if the group has no preferences.

Will other conferences be placed in the same building as my conference?

Depending on the size of your conference group, your group may be sharing a facility with another conference group. only group members with room assignments will be allowed access, use, and occupancy of the facility.

What resources are provided in building common spaces?

Toilet paper, paper towels, and soap are provided in all common bathrooms and kitchens. All laundry machines are free for use. However, supplies such as pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, and detergent are not available.

How do I inquire on Summer availability?

Please fill out page 3 of the Reservation Request form and email to conferences@tulane.edu.  Contact the Conferences & Hub Coordinator at conferences@tulane.edu if you have any questions.  Before completing the form, please gather information about the following:

  • Primary group representative, including name, phone number, and email address
  • Anticipated and/or estimated participant, staff, and/or chaperone numbers
  • Dates of arrival and departure for staff, early arrivals, and participants
  • Additional amenity requests, including linens and campus fitness center access

Note: Completing a reservation form is non-binding. The information provided in the form will be used to create a draft invoice and contract for review by the group representative(s). Therefore a group can modify or cancel with no penalty prior to returning a signed contract. The contract covers basic information about your group's stay, including the number of attendees, dates, as well as University policies on guaranteed number, cancellations, and other important details. One contract per group/session/camp will be generated. Generally, a group is given 21 days to return a contract

Rates and Amenities

ROOM RATE

Housing and Residence Life offers the following room types and rates to conference groups. Please note that room types are subject to availability. Room types are available as corridor or suite-style rooms. Youth groups will be placed in corridor rooms that have shared restrooms on each floor. Adult guests will be placed in suite-style rooms that have shared bathrooms within a 2-5 person suite. Summer 2026 Rates:

  • Single: $42 per night per person
  • Double: $36 per night per person 

Rates are subject to change and will be updated annually. Tulane University’s Housing and Residence Life department will provide the conference or summer group with a group bill itemized according to services. The conference or summer group agrees to pay Tulane University for all unpaid charges within ten days of receiving a statement. Payments will not be accepted from individual conference participants or sub-groups within the conference or summer group. Participants will not be permitted to check into the residence halls if group payment has not been received. 

MINIMUM STAY/EXTENDED STAY

The minimum stay for all conference groups is a three night stay. Additional nights beyond the conference group’s contracted dates may be available at the same room rate upon request and at the sole discretion of Housing and Residence Life. All extended stay requests are required to be approved a minimum of 10-days prior to the conference groups arrival to Tulane University. 

OTHER AMENITIES

Housing and Residence Life offers other amenities to conference groups. Please note that additional fees apply. Summer 2026 Rates:

  • Linens: $5 per night per person (note: must be purchased for entire group, not individuals)
    • Included in a linens packet: 1 blanket, 1 pillow and pillowcase, 2 flat sheets, and 1 bath towel
    • Linen packets are stacked and placed on beds; beds are not made for participants
  • Reily Recreation Center (campus fitness): $4 per night per person (note: must be purchased for entire group, not individuals)
