New Orleans offers a variety of transportation and parking options to help you experience as much of the city as possible.
TRANSPORTATION:
Accessible Transportation: For all forms of transportation, New Orleans offers wheelchair accessible options. Please click here for more information on all transportation options. Information about RTA paratransit service can be found on the RTA website.
Streetcar: The iconic New Orleans streetcar can be a fun and easy way to get around the city. There are three different lines: St. Charles, Canal Street, and the Riverfront, each of which originates downtown but takes you different parts of the city. RTA Buses: With stops close to campus, the RTA bus system is a convenient and easy way to get around the city. For maps and schedules, visit the Regional Transit Authority's website.
Bike Share: New Orleans hosts a number of bike rental companies. Check out a list of bike rental locations here.
Cabs and Taxis: There are a number of cab and taxi services that serve New Orleans neighborhoods. For Uptown service, call Coleman Cab at (504)586-0222, Patio Cab at (504) 891-6484, or Veteran's Cab at (504) 367-6767. Click here for more cab and taxi services.
Uber and Lyft: Both Uber and Lyft are popular transportation options for students and guests. Please note that Lyft does not currently accept rides to or from the New Orleans Airport.

PARKING:
Parking Off Campus: Parking rules in New Orleans may vary by neighborhood, so be sure to read parking signs carefully. Parking is prohibited at meters in designated rush hour zones from 7 a.m. - 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Please read the meters before you park! Want to secure a spot before you arrive? Check out Parking Panda and Premium Parking to reserve a parking spot. If your car is towed away, contact the Claiborne Auto Pound at (504) 658-8284.
Parking On Campus: There are a number of metered parking spots on campus. To purchase a short-term parking pass, contact Tulane Parking Services at (504)865-5424.

UPTOWN FAVORITES
Oak Street: Be sure to stop by Oak Street (between S. Carrollton Ave and Monticello Ave) for live music, local shops, and great food. Student favorites include Mellow Mushroom (pizza), Chiba (sushi), La Casita Taqueria (tacos), and Jacques-Imos (New Orleans cuisine). On the way to Oak Street, stop by Plum Street Snoballs for a treat!
Freret Street: Catch the bus going down Freret street to find a number of great restaurants and shops. Start your day off with a Humble Bagel or enjoy Tuesday Trivia at Dat Dog. Check out all of Freret Street's offerings here.
Magazine Street: Spanning from Audubon Park to the Garden District, Magazine Street is known for its art galleries, antique shops, and great restaurants. GROCERY STORES
Rouses: Founded in Louisiana, this local grocery chain is now one of the largest independent grocers in the United States. Locations close to campus can be found at 4500 Tchoputoulas St and 400 N Carrollton Ave. For more information about hours and locations, visit the Rouses website.

Audubon Park and Zoo: Just south of campus is Audubon Park. Named after artist and naturalist John James Audubon who lived in New Orleans starting in 1821, the park features a 1.8 paved loop for joggers, cyclists, and rollerbladers and several covered shelters.
