The 1963 Collective is a Residential Learning Community for first year students interested in exploring Black history, culture, and knowledge. Through the TIDES course and programming, residents will build community, celebrate Black excellence, and follow in the footsteps of trailblazers like Deidre Dumas Labat, Reynold T. Décou, and others. The 1963 Collective will go on trips to culturally relevant sites of the past and present including festivals, museums, restaurants, sporting events, concerts, and more. Students participating in the RLC will be expected to participate in the Office of Multicultural Affairs Intercultural Leadership Retreat which takes place in late September and our Peer Mentor program, The Wave Makers.
HRL works in partnership with the the Office of Multicultural Affairs on the 1963 Collective RLC. If you have questions about the RLC content or programming, please contact Cara Guilbeau (cguilbeau@tulane.edu), Director, Office of Multicultural Affairs.
