Maintenance & Cleaning

The residence halls are cleaned and maintained through a partnership with Campus Services. There are staff on campus to help students troubleshoot issues both during the day and to respond to emergencies outside of business hours.

Maintenance

Staff from Campus Services perform routine maintenance in the residence halls on a daily basis. If a student has a maintenance issue, they should report the issue to Campus Services immediately. Methods of reporting are detailed below.

Cleaning

The residence halls are cleaned daily to maintain a healthy living environment for students. Cleaning staff are responsible for cleaning and maintaining all common areas in the residence halls, while students are responsible for cleaning inside their rooms.

Bathrooms

All common area bathrooms, particularly community bathrooms in traditional-style residence halls, are cleaned once per day, according to the schedule posted on the door. Cleaning of suited and private restrooms are the responsibility of the residents of those living units.

Reporting Issues

To report a maintenance or cleaning issue in your room or building, students should submit a Service Wave request at servicewave.tulane.edu. For emergencies, call 504.865.5441 to speak to Customer Engagement or on-call staff.

Please note that Service Wave requests for cleaning not provided by the University, such as areas where students are responsible for cleaning, and maintenance repairs caused by students or identified as vandalism are subject to fees. All charges for such concerns will be billed to the student's account.

Furniture

Having an issue with your bedroom or lounge furniture? Submit a Service Wave to have our staff address the issue. To request help raising or lowering your bed, please reach out to your Resident Advisor.

Laundry

Use of washers and dryers in the residence halls is provided to students as part of their room and board costs. Most students may view available machines, set up text message alerts, and report issues with a machine via LaundryView. Students living in The Village (Lake, River, Fogelman, and Bayou Halls) can view available machines and report issues through CSC ServiceWorks.

Issues with machines can be reported directly to the laundry vendor, CSC, via their app CSC Service, which is available in the iOS App Store and the Google Play Store. Issues can also be submitted via Service Wave, and a staff member from Housing and Residence Life will report the issue to CSC on your behalf.

Internet and Cable

All network, IP television services and associated equipment are managed by Tulane University Technology Services. If you're experiencing an issue with your internet connection or the physical hardware that allows you to connect to the campus network, please use one of the following methods to contact Technology Services.

  • Report the issue via the Technology Services online support system.

USS pick-ups are available at the end of each semester (December and May), and deliveries are available at the start of each semester (August and January). Delivery options throughout the summer may vary. Please visit the USS website for more information.

Water Coolers

USS also provides water delivery services through LA Waters, allowing students to rent or purchase water coolers and receive refill jugs during scheduled pick-up locations throughout each semester. Visit the USS website for more information.
