Josephine Louise Residence Hall

Image

Josephine Louise Hall, better known as JOLO, is one of four original buildings on the Newcomb campus and is named in honor of the school's benefactress, Mrs. Josephine Louise Lemonnier Newcomb. JOLO houses first-year students. JOLO was historically an all women's facility until 2021. JOLO has single- and double-occupancy rooms and common bathrooms. Many of the rooms are unique in character and do not have standard dimensions. The building offers features such as old-fashioned casement windows, high ceilings and mounted bookshelves. All rooms have a sink and mirror in one corner. The Greenbaum desk is open 24/7 to assist Josephine Louise residents with key/access issues, security concerns, or additional questions. Contact the Greenbaum desk at 504-865-6802.

Josephine Louise is home to the Spark Residential Learning Community and the Current Residential Learning Community
