Paterson COVID-19 Information

PATERSON RESIDENT FAQ

Why is Paterson becoming an infirmary?

As we begin to plan for the reopening of our campus, the university is developing protocols to promote safety and security in many ways. Knowing that COVID-19 will still likely be with us in the Fall, we need to identify a place where we can ask students to self-isolate, should they become exposed to the virus.

What happens to students already assigned to live in Paterson for next year? Will they be relocated? Can they stay with their roommates?

Students who currently have an assignment in Paterson Hall will be reassigned to other buildings and will be notified when their new assignment is confirmed. We will do our best to preserve roommate groups who chose rooms together during the Spring Returning Student Room Selection Process.

Will there be a room change process in the fall and how will that work?

There will be a room change process in the fall which will begin 3 weeks after the start of the school year. Residents will be notified of the room change process via their Tulane email. That email will contain specific instructions about completing the Room Change Request and the subsequent process.

There are two RLCs slated to be in Paterson next year. What will happen to them?

The Kaleidoscope and Changemaker RLCs will be relocated to Monroe Hall.

How long will Paterson be the infirmary for campus?

We have committed Paterson Hall to serve the campus as the infirmary, for the entire 20-21 academic year. Plans for future academic years and the use of Paterson Hall will be determined as we have more information during this upcoming year.
