Décou-Labat Residences

In 1966 and 1967, Deidre Dumas Labat and Reynold T. Décou became the first African American undergraduates to earn degrees from Newcomb College and Tulane, respectively. In November 2019 these distinguished alumni were recognized with the naming of our community formerly known as Willow Residences in their honor. Décou-Labat Residences, on the corner of Willow Street and McAlister Drive, houses over 300 students in four buildings. Décou-Labat is home to returning students. The three buildings facing McAlister Drive are similar in design. Each building has two room suites consisting of either two double rooms sharing a bath, two single rooms sharing a bath, or one single room and one double room sharing a bath.  The Décou-Labat desk is open 24/7 to assist residents with key/access issues, security concerns, or additional questions. Contact the Décou-Labat front desk at 504-862-3949.

The Décou-Labat Townhomes are located right behind the main Décou-Labat buildings and feature rooms that are entered from an exterior courtyard.
