Resident Advisors are live-in student leaders who serve as role models and facilitate activities and programs in the residence halls. RAs are vital to building a strong residence hall community, upholding Community Living Standards, holding residents accountable, and managing student concerns and crises. Being an Resident Advisor is an excellent way to get involved in the Tulane Community, build professional experience, and grow as a student leader on-campus!

Please note: if you wish to be considered for the RA position for both the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 Academic Years, you must ensure to fully complete both applications. Students will only be considered for RA positions for the terms that they submit a completed application for.

2022-2023 Application Information

The application for the 2022-2023 Resident Advisor position closed on December 12, 2021. Students who complete the 2022-2023 Resident Advisor Application will be considered for positions for the 2022-2023 Academic Year, which includes the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters.

How Do I Apply?

Students must apply online via Tulane eRezlife for the Resident Advisor positon for the Academic Year they wish to become an RA for.

Begin by navigating to ERezLife by clicking here
Create an account by clicking the “Create Account” button
On the Create Account screen, enter in the following information:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email (please use your Tulane Email)
- Student ID Number (the number on your Splash ID)
Click create account again to finish your account set up
- You will see a “Congratulations!” message displayed
Check your email, and click the link in the email to set your password

Begin Your Application

Log-in to eRezLife by clicking here
Click “Job overview” in the menu on the left-hand side of the screen
This will display all positions you can apply to
Click the 2022-2023 Resident Advisor Position
Review the information on the job posting, and click “Apply Now” to begin your application
Follow the on-screen instructions

Hiring Timeline

The following timeline includes important dates for the Resident Advisor Hiring Process. Applicants to the Resident Advisor position must check their email throughout the hiring process to ensure they are receiving important information regarding the hiring process:

November 1st – Application Opens on eRezLife

November 11th – Mandatory Info Session Option #1

November 14th – Mandatory Info Session Option #2

November 17th – Mandatory Info Session Option #3

December 12th – Application Closes on eRezLife

Early January – Interview offers sent to selected candidates

January 27th – Resident Advisor Selection Social

January 28th – Resident Advisor Interview Day

January 29th – Resident Advisor Interview Day

Mid-February – Resident Advisor Position Offers Sent

Selection Process Requirements

All candidates must complete the following as part of their selection process for the Resident Advisor Position:

• Application via eRezLife (including all requested supplemental materials/documents)

• Attend a Mandatory Information Session

• Participate in Interviews

• Complete any supplemental applications for Residential Learning Communities, if interested

Mandatory Information Sessions

Housing and Residence Life will be hosting mandatory Information sessions as part of the hiring process. These sessions are designed to allow applicants to learn more requirements of the RA position, meet current Residence Life staff, including RAs and Resident Directors, and are also a great opportunity to ask any questions you have about what it is like to be an RA.

Mandatory Information Session Dates/Times:

Thursday, November 11th at 5:00pm – Sharp Hall Classroom
Sunday, November 14th at 1:00pm – Greenbaum Hall Kitchen
Wednesday, November 17th at 5:00pm – Greenbaum Hall Kitchen (New Location!!)

All applicants for the Resident Advisor position are required to attend a mandatory Information Session as part of the hiring process. Students must make every attempt to attend at the times above. Students who apply to be a Resident Advisor, but cannot attend a mandatory information session due to an unavoidable academic or work conflict must contact Housing and Residence Life prior to the last mandatory Information Session by emailing us at housing@tulane.edu so that alternate arrangements may be made for you to get the information via an alternate meeting time.

Students may attend the mandatory Information Sessions before submitting an application via eRezLife.

2021-2022 Alternate Pool

Housing & Residence Life is accepting applications for students who are interested in being considered for any vacancies that might occur in the RA position during the 2021-2022 Academic Year (Fall 2021 or Spring 2022 semesters).

Students who apply for the Alternate Pool will only be considered for Fall 2021 or Spring 2022 vacancies. Students who wish to be considered for the RA position for the 2022-2023 Academic Year must ensure to fully complete the “2022-2023 Resident Advisor Position” application on eRezLife.

The priority deadline for consideration in the 2021-2022 Alternate Pool is October 17, 2021. After October 17th, applications will be considered on a rolling basis if a Resident Advisor vacancy is confirmed.
