Vision & Mission

In 2006, Housing and Reidence Life undertook a comprehensive strategic planning process to establish the future direction for the department. Housing and Residence Life is committed to challenging, supporting, and educating residents within our living and learning communities. Our activities are driven by our mission and our vision for the future. By 2011, Housing and Residence Life will be a progressive Tulane University resource that cultivates respect, responsibility, and pride within a unique living and learning environment with an emphasis on student development through education and learning, innovation and development, and service and support. The department will have a new financial model, a new communications plan, and a new plan for collaboration to support its many initiatives. In addition, customer satisfaction with service and facilities will increase, and staff recruitment will improve to become a standard of excellence. Finally, the department will develop and implement a renovation, renewal, and construction plan to improve housing facilities, as well as complete a transition to electronic systems. The cumulative effect of these changes will improve the overall impact of Housing and Residence Life on the lives of its residents and on the Tulane University community as a whole.
