Off-Campus Housing
We do not provide listings for off-campus housing but the Associated Student Body does maintain an off-campus housing website as a "bulletin board" for local rentals. As a result of Hurricane Katrina, we are encouraging students and parents to be very thorough in seeking off-campus housing AND, as a recommendation, we encourage all students, both on- and off-campus, to obtain some form of supplemental insurance (renters insurance, a rider on a homeowner policy, college student insurance). The Uptown area is a highly fluid market for off-campus housing and rentals are generally available throughout the year. It is far different than many college areas and we highly recommend extra caution and research. Within one block, the range of rental fees can be extreme.
