Withdrawls & Cancellations

While we support all students in their academic endeavors, students occasionally find that they need to take a break academically, or decide to transfer to a different institution to complete their education. This information is for students who find themselves in these situations.

How to Cancel a Current Assignment or Take a Leave of Absence
> Withdrawing mid-semester or mid-year
> Transferring at mid-year

Please complete a Cancellation Form as soon as you know you are going to be leaving Tulane. This is in addition to notifying your academic advisor, college and other service departments including, but not limited to: meal plans, Card Services, Financial Aid, Accounts Receivable. If you plan to take a temporary leave of absence and return to campus housing, you should also complete a Leave of Absence Form.

Once you have completed your form, please submit it to the Housing and Residence Life in Irby Hall. You must to check out of your Residence Hall room with your Resident Advisor or a member of your hall's RA staff to avoid improper check-out charges.

Deadlines: If leaving at the end of the fall semester, forms should be submitted by November 1 to avoid penalties. If leaving mid-semester, please submit the form as soon as possible after making the decision to leave.
