Dear fellow Tulane student,
Wall Residential College is now accepting applications for residency for the 08-09 academic year. As the Residence Hall Government (RHG) President, I would like to invite you to apply. Living in Wall is an amazing experience full of opportunities. If you are interested in self-governance, student programming, or increased interaction with faculty members outside the classroom, Wall Residential College has a lot to offer. As an upperclass resident you will be joining our other upperclassmen who will be returning to Wall next year as well as new incoming freshmen as we build new traditions together.
As you consider applying to Wall, here are a couple of rumors that I'd like to dispel. Hopefully, this will help you with your decision process.
1. Yes, the expectations of Wall residents are tangible but not intense. We simply ask that all members of the community participate in one committee and/or give back in some other way by sharing their talents with others. They could be leadership, musical, artistic, culinary, athletic, etc. talents.
2. No, we do NOT have maids that clean our rooms once a week. Wall suites are cleaned at the end of each year and our bathrooms are cleaned between semesters. While Wall has great accommodations, this should not be the deciding factor in your deciding to apply.
3. No, you do not need to be super involved elsewhere around campus to live in Wall. While many of our residents are very involved elsewhere, many others are not. We only ask that all residents participate with Wall activities.
4. No, the application and acceptance processes are not extraordinarily stringent. If you are interested in living in Wall next year, please e-mail Mariana Zanotti at mzanotti@tulane.edu by February 29th at 5:00 pm. You should include your resume and a statement of interest (max. 500 words, as a Word document or PDF file only). Let us know why you are interested in living in Wall and what you have to offer. Feel free to let your personality shine through!
If you have any questions, I'd be happy address them. Please e-mail me at ecouper@tulane.edu
Other than that, have a great day.
